Invitation from member in Spain : We cordially invite you to participate in the event of our new direct member club in Mallorca, Alcudia. The IVV Event with IVV/IML Cup takes place from March 13-16, 2019. Further information here.


The final report of the IVV Members' Survey is now available online. The Presidium thanks the Congress delegates and all others who responded to the Member’s Survey for their thoughtful input. It will be used to give the Federation direction and purpose for years to come.


Since the rules of the IVV/IML Cup correspond to the IML specifications, i.e. each day of the event at least 20 km, the IVV/IML Cup books as well as the normal IML books can be stamped from now on at IVV/IML Cup events. In the IML book these entries count only for the figures.


The International Federation of Popular Sports mourns Hans-Dieter Fuhr, who died on May 11, 2018 at the age of 77 after a brief, serious illness. Mr. Fuhr served for the IVV and DVV for many years as contact person in German-American affairs. His enormous merits lie in establishing and maintaining international friendships. Our condolences go out to the family. We will honour his memory.


The date for the Marbella 4 Day Walk in 2019 has been changed to Oct. 17 - 20, 2019.

The Short Report for the IVV Presidium meeting in Mazara del Vallo, Sicily has been posted. The 2018 IVV Congress of Delegates Minutes are also available on the website.


At the IVV-Europe Congress of Delegates in Hirtshals, Denmark, the 2020  Europiade was awarded to the Austrian Association with Sillian, Austria as the venue. Exact dates have yet to be determined.


Delegates at the recent IVV Congress in Mazaro del Vallo, Sicily, have chosen Ostende, Belgium for the location of the next IVV Congress, May 06-10, 2020. Delegates also chose Seoul, South Korea for the location of the IVV Olympiade in 2021. The event will take place from Oct 27-31, 2021.


IVV-Switzerland has elected a new Presidium which has been in office since April 1 . The new IVV President is Mr Rolf Roth, the new Vice-President Mr Daniel Haas. We are pleased with the successful  elections and wish the association continued success.


We announce the sad news that the former IVV President Odd Ivar Ruud has died. He will be buried in Skarnes on April 4, 2018. Odd Ivar Ruud was President of the International Federation of Popular Sports from 1997 - 2007. Our condolences go out to his wife and family.
