2020-11-26   POSTPONEMENT The walking festival scheduled for December 05-06 in Ameixial, Portugal has been postponed until Dec. 19-20, 2020.

2020-10-25  IVV-Australia annonces that it has a new president, Yvonne STEWART, and the dates of the Aussie Peace Walk (formerly Canberra Walking Festival) for 2021 and 2022.

2020-10-04  The Netherlands Volkssport Federation has published its 2021 Calendar of Events.

2020-10-01  The IVV Olympiad in South Korea will be postponed to 2022 due to the pandemic. Details will follow.

2020-08-11  Please fnd the registration form for the Walking Festival in Amaixial, Portugal March 06-07, 2021 attached. Information for events in December 2020 and April 2021 is also available.

2020-07-27  The IVV Congress in Belgium, previously postponed from May until October, has now been CANCELLED due to implications of the ciontinuing pandemic. Notice has been sent to all national Associations, and further information on procedures will follow the week after next. The IVV Office is closed until August 06 as the Executive Assitant will be on holiday until then.

2020-06-12  CANCELLED EVENT - IVV/IML Cup Marbella, Spain October 2020: Unfortunately, the event has been cancelled due to the current situation.

2020-05-18  CVF President (2012-2016), Ethel Hansen - News has been received from the Bastion City Wanderers Volkssport Club, Nanaimo, BC - It is with great sadness that I must inform you of the passing of Ethel Hansen. She passed away May 15th, 2020, at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Ethel has been a valued member of our club and the Canadian Volkssport Federation since March 1996.  She served as our club’s president many times over the years as well as the President of VABC and the CVF.  She has given so much of her time and energy to Volkssport and touched the lives of many along the way.  She will be greatly missed.

2020-05-15  IVV Photo Gallery  This new project is now open. Please follow the procedures explained on this website to participate. All photos are approved by the moderator before they appear on the screen. Occasionally, approval may take 24-48 hours.

2020-04-23  New Permanent Trail - Portugal - A new Permanent Trail in Corte de Ouro is announced. The previous Permanent Trail in Vale da Rosa has been closed.


2020-04-20  RESCHEDULED EVENT IVV-Asia has announced that the previously postponed 5th Asianpiad will now take place on October 23-24, 2021 in Vladivostok.

2020-04-06  RESCHEDULED EVENT - Portugal   The Walking Festival originally scheduled for April in the Algarve, Portugal has been postponed until Dec. 05/06 2020

2020-03-23  RESCHEDULED EVENT Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and in order to minimize the risk of infection, we have to postpone the 5th Europiad Hochpustertal 2020 by one year in view of the corona crisis. The 5th Europiad will be held from June 2 to June 5, 2021. From today's point of view, the venues and the program should remain unchanged. 2020-03-17  Given the very difficult situation around the world due to the COVID-19 virus, many IVV walking events may have to be cancelled. The IVV strongly encourages all walkers to stay safe and healthy by following the directions of local health authorities.

2020-03-12  RESCHEDULED EVENT - Due to the known situation, and to support the recommended measures of the governments, the IVV Congress of Delegates planned for May is postponed to October. Arrival of the delegates: Thursday, 8 October 2020. Congress: Friday/Saturday as described with frame program. Departure of the delegates: Sunday, October 11, 2020.

2020-03-08 Notice of the CANCELLATION of the 13th Taiwan IVV WWD Walking Festival has been received from Wei-Feng HUANG, Secretary of the Chinese Taipei Alpine Association.  "...The 13th Taiwan IVV WWD Walking Festival, which is scheduled to be held on April 25.26, is cancelled due to the COVID-19 disease in Taiwan and around the globe. In response to the situation, CTAA cooperates with our government to prevent the epidemic by avoiding activities involving a large number of people. ... The event will be suspended until the next year."

2020-02-29  IVV-ASIA ASIANPIAD Certification Program - Certification will be given to walkers who participated all the five  Asianpiads in all  IVV-ASIA countries. The certificate will be offered at the Vladivostok event return area. If a walker participates in an IVV Olympiad in IVV-ASIA countries (Japan, Korea), the participation will be substitutable for Asianpiads in Japan or Korea. Participation will be confirmed with IVV walking passport or certification of achievement of previous Asianpiad/Olympiad. You may view the certicate here.

2020-02-18 - IVV/IML Cup Walking Program. The following information is for IML walkers only. Regulation for the IML/IVV Cup stamp due to the overlapping of the IML event in Wonju (Oct 30 – 31, 2021) and the IVV Olympiad in Seoul (Oct 30 – Nov 1, 2021): Every walker who can show the IML stamp of Wonju 2021 in the IML Passport will additionally receive the IML/IVV Cup stamp of the IVV Olympiad in the IML Passport if the walker walks 20 / 10 km at the IVV Olympiad on November 1, 2021.  The Cup stamp in the IML Passport is only issued in connection with the IML Wonju stamp from 2021.
